The next time you have an opportunity, speak to a senior and strike up a conversation. You won’t have to do much talking but be prepared to listen intently. You are going to hear some exciting stories regarding childhood, growing up, homemaking, career choices, travel and finally the most exciting part: children, grandchildren and photos of them.

Many seniors have lived through and had amazing experiences. That is part of what it means to be a senior.

Listening - that is a caring feature of one of our nonmedical services.

The Washington Post has reported that more than 40% of seniors experience loneliness regularly and that this feeling of separation and disconnection with society, their community and family impacts their emotional and physical health.  These impacts can result in their becoming ill more easily and is a risk factor for cognitive decline and dementia.

Listening actively may be a simple way to helping seniors feel more connected, and it is why eHark specifically lists it in its services. Contact us to schedule some listening time.
